new Borehole Wells
New borehole wells
Ask us about drillingIf you can’t fix a well, drill one.
In communities where dependable water sources are scarce, drilling a new borehole well is often the best way to provide safe and reliable drinking water. By tapping into groundwater that is trapped in aquifers often hundreds of feet below the earth’s surface, drilling a new borehole well is a higher risk, high-reward project that can provide years of abundant water to entire communities.
IMPACT: Clean water for 300-500 people
LIFESPAN: 10+ years
COST: $8,000-12,000 USD

UWP begins each new borehole well project with a hydrogeological survey that identifies if a viable aquifer is present below ground. If the results are positive, UWP will move forward with drilling the well, installing the initial hardware, testing the pump, and, finally, installing the above-ground components. From start to finish, this process is expected to take 12-15 weeks and, unlike our other water solutions, the project cost for a new borehole well will vary and not be finalized until the project is complete.

We value transparency & we’re proud of our work, so we enjoy sharing it with you!
When you sponsor a new borehole well, you’ll receive the same information and data from the field that we do. Whether it’s the results of the initial hydrogeological survey prior to drilling, the progress of the drilling itself, or the finished product of the functioning handpump well, we’ll make sure you have have photos from every stage and access to the same documents from our drilling partner that we receive.
