Hey friends & family! In this time of COVID-19, it is amazing to see so many of you stepping up to support small businesses … so can I ask you to support my small non-profit too? I work at the Ugandan Water Project and my US and Ugandan coworkers and I want nothing more than to see every community in Uganda equipped with access to an essential resource we all take for granted: clean water. Just think how much more frightening this pandemic would be if none of us here (including our healthcare workers!) could safely wash our hands.
UWP was supposed to host our biggest fundraiser of the year (our 11th Annual 5K Walk & Run) later next month, but because of COVID-19, we’ve had to bump it up to April 4-5 and make a virtual event. This means I’ll be joining 100+ people online from around the world as we all get active to raise money & raise awareness for Uganda’s water crisis throughout the weekend. The success of this event will have a tremendous impact my organization’s ability to serve communities in Uganda throughout the rest of the year, so I would really appreciate if you’d consider partnering with me and my team in one of two ways:
𝟏. 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧: I’ve set a $2000 fundraising goal for myself, and I’d love for you to help me get across the finish line! I know times are tough for many, but if you’re willing and able, I would be so thankful for a gift of any size! Donate here: https://ugandanwaterproject.
𝟐. 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭: The more people who rally around this event, the better! Commit to raising or donating just $50 or more, then get active doing whatever you like, wherever you are during the weekend of April 4-5! We’ll create your own personal fundraising page on our website, equip you with fundraising resources, and mail you t-shirt and race bib (hopefully in time for the event).
