Ugandan Water Project has been sending teams of all sizes and ages to Uganda since 2008. Our team members have the first-hand opportunity to give hope, share joy and to make a tangible difference in the lives of our Ugandan friends. Each person who travels with us has their own unique set of skills and talents that contribute to the effectiveness of the team as a whole. You have something to offer and our friends in Uganda await your arrival with much gratitude and love.
What do teams do in Uganda?
While in-country, our teams make visits to various schools, churches, orphanages, etc. where UWP water tanks have been installed. Although basic inspection of the tank is completed, the main purpose is to continue to build our relationship with the people within the community. This includes sharing at community gatherings, caring for children, assessing our 2nd Steps Programs, bringing tangible resources and serving as needed. We also spend time in the slums and work alongside our Ugandan partners to feed and provide basic first aid to some of the poorest people in Uganda.
When do teams travel to Uganda?
We send teams to Uganda 3-4 times each year – February, May, August and October. Trip dates may flex by a day or so until the itinerary is completed. Our 2012 trips are scheduled for:
- February 19th – March 3rd
- July 31st – August 13th
- October 14th – 27th
How much does it cost to travel to Uganda?
The cost for a two-week trip to Uganda is $3500. The fee includes your entry visa fee, airfare, housing and meals, in-country transportation, travel insurance, as well as the cost of any in-country programs like community gatherings and feeding programs. It does not include the cost of obtaining a passport, vaccinations (required or optional) and spending money. Most of our travelers raise support money to pay for their trip. Our travelers find that they gain the support of their friends and family quite easily. Please note that a $200 deposit is due with application. $500, $1800 and $3500 in total funds are due at 13 weeks, 8 weeks and 2 weeks prior to departure.

Hey Zach,
Hope to hear from you soon.
Sorry for the delayed reply to your website inquiry. Glad to hear you’re interested in our late summer trip. Looks like the dates are July 31-Aug 13, 2011. If you’re serious about coming then go to our Trips page and download the application and send it in with the required deposit of $200. If for some reason you don’t make the team (we limit our team sizes) we’ll return your deposit and talk with you about what’s up so you don’t think we just don’t like you
